In 1875, J. Bulova Company was founded in America by Joseph Bulova, a Bohemian. In 1923, after recombination, Bulova Watch Company was officially established. Since this company was formed, the designers have spared no efforts to make stunning timepieces. Until now, this brand has been well known all over the world.
There is a story about Teddy Bacon and Bulova wristwatch.
In 1941, when Teddy Bacon, a Lieutenant, was demonstrating a seaman how to throw a line to shore from his ship, HMS Repulse, his gold automatic wristwatch dropped into the harbor in Gibraltar all of a sudden. Teddy thought he had lost his watch for good. To everyone’s surprise, in 2007, this timepiece was refloated by dredge workers. When Teddy saw his watch which got missed for over sixty years, he was totally shocked. The more astonishing thing was that this timepiece kept precise, although it was submerged in the sea for such a long time. It is indeed a miracle. And the wristwatch Teddy had is Bulova and then it got a greater fame through the whole world.
For years, this world-known watch trademark makes unremitting efforts on innovation and advances with the times. As so far, it has made great achievements in watch making.
In 1928, the first global clock radio was born in this company. Since the year 2000, the date 4th, October was designated as “Bulova’s Day” by the New York mayor to commend Bulova’s huge contributions to the timepiece industry. In 2010, the company manufactured a new type of quartz watch, Precisionist which is said to control the time error for only 10 seconds within a year.
The unremitting efforts and innovations makes this company become one of the best timepiece manufacturers in the world. Now, Bulova watch has been one of the symbols of beauty and classic.
